Every year on November 19, the world celebrates International Men's Day. It was first celebrated in 1999 by the residents of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago — an island nation in the southern part of the Caribbean Sea, consisting of two major islands. Subsequently, this holiday gained support in other countries of the Caribbean, Australia, North America, Asia, Europe, and in the United Nations.
In 1954, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that all countries establish the celebration of Universal Children's Day as a day of global brotherhood and understanding among children, dedicated to activities aimed at ensuring the well-being of children worldwide. The UN suggested that governments celebrate this day on any date they deem appropriate. November 20 marks the day in 1959 when the assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, and in 1989, the Convention on the Rights of the Child.Source: http://www.calend.ru/holidays/0/0/106/ © Calend.ru
